Existen también átomos que tienen el mismo número atómico pero distinto número másico ,
los cuales se conocen como isótopos.
Por ejemplo , existen 3 isótopos naturales del hidrógeno , es decir , tienen el mismo número de
protones pero distinto número neutrones.
Also exist atoms which have the same atomic number but different mass numbers,they are known as isotopes.
For example, there are three naturally occurring isotopes of hydrogen, that is, they have the same number of protons but a different number of neutrons.

( 2 protones y 2 neutrones ).
El número atómico del helio es 2 ( 2He), por lo tanto su núcleo contiene 2 protones.

Protones : partículas de carga eléctrica positiva .
Neutrones : partículas carentes de carga eléctrica.

around which there is a cloud of electrons that are negatively charged.
Protons: positively charged particles.
Neutron particles devoid of electric charge.
