-La cantidad de protones contenidos en el núcleo del átomo se conoce como número atómico .
El número atómico del helio es 2 ( 2He), por lo tanto su núcleo contiene 2 protones.

-La cantidad total de nucleones que contiene un átomo se conoce como número másico.
El número másico del helio es 4 (4He) por lo tanto tiene su núcleo tiene cuatro nucleones en total
 ( 2 protones y 2 neutrones ).

-The amount of protons contained in the nucleus of the atom is known as atomic number.The atomic number of helium is 2 (2He), therefore its nucleus contains 2 protons.

-The total amount of nucleons atom containing known as mass number. 

Helium mass number is 4 (4He) therefore its core has four total nucleons 

(Two protons and two neutrons).
