EL ÁTOMO CONCEPTO

El concepto de átomo existe desde la Antigua Grecia , sin embargo , no se generó el
concepto por medio de la experimentación sino como una necesidad filosófica que explicar
la realidad.

Los pensadores Demócrito, Leucipo y Epicuro ( que integraron el concepto de átomo )
pensaban que la materia no podía dividirse indefinidamente , por lo que debía existir
una unidad o bloque indivisible e indestructible que al combinarse de diferentes formas
crearan todos los cuerpos que nos rodean.

Átomo significa en griego "no divisible".
 En griego "a" significa no y "tomos" significa cortar .

A lo largo de los siglos , el tamaño y la naturaleza del átomo sólo fueron objeto de especulaciones , por lo que su conocimiento avanzó muy lentamente.
